According to foreign media reports, mobile processor leader qualcomm will launch a new generation of flagship processor Snapdragon 865 and its related data has been exposed.Among them, the flagship processor will be available in 5G and 4G LTE versions. In addition, both versions support LPDDR5X memory and UFS 3.0 flash memory, which will be available by the end of 2019.

According to the report, the current flagship snapdragon 855 is qualcomm's first 7-nanometer processor and is currently used by almost every major handset manufacturer in the world. As for the snapdragon 855 successor, the snapdragon 865 processor is expected to be made using the same 7-nanometer process. However, the snapdragon 865 will be available in two versions, one for 5G and the other for 4G LTE.

The snapdragon 865 processor is internally codenamed SM8250 by qualcomm, which is consistent with the snapdragon 855 codename SM8150.The two processor versions that support 5G networks and 4G LTE are codename Kona and Huracan respectively. However, it is not known which code-named version is the one with a 5G baseband chip. The 5g-enabled snapdragon 865 processor will be integrated with qualcomm's latest snapdragon X55 baseband chip, while both versions will support LPDDR5X memory and UFS 3.0 flash memory.

Qualcomm is expected to launch the snapdragon 865 mobile processor in December 2019, similar to its flagship 8-series processor in previous generations, the report said.In the past two years, the first device to use the company's latest flagship processor has been a samsung phone, so qualcomm's upcoming flagship processor is expected to debut on the Galaxy S11 in the first half of 2020.
